5 THings you Should know before you start drinking Kombucha
Start out slow
We recommend drinking about 12 oz a day.
See the cleanse
There will be noticeable physical changes once you start to drink Kombucha. One of Kombucha's greatest health benefits is its ability to cleanse the body. Each person will have different cleansing symptoms, but some things to prepare for are increased bathroom visits, skin eruptions, appetite change, sinus congestion and more. It is rich in many enzymes, amino acids and bacterial probiotics your body produces and/or uses to cleanse your system, thus reducing your pancreatic load and easing the burden on your liver. You should make sure you are still drinking plenty of water to aid in the initial cleanse.
How long until I see & feel the changes
Every body is different, but typically if you can work yourself up to drinking one 12 oz glass a day within 3-4 weeks you will be over the major cleanse hill & will start to reap all the benefits of sticking with it. The average person's hair grows an inch a month, so after a month you should be able to feel the difference in the new growth. Your skin should start to clear up after month too & you should notice your sugar cravings dwindling down.
Do Not Shake it!
Kombucha is a raw beverage so there will be things such as pulp, yeast and other items floating around or resting at the bottom of the bottle. However, we cannot count the number of times we have handed a bottle to someone to try & their first instinct is to shake it. Please do not shake Kombucha as it is carbonated & can explode just like a soda can when you shake it. Our suggestion is to lightly turn it upside down and rightside up to get the items to mix together.
How long does it last in your fridge
If you are anything like us, you'll drink your Kombucha long before it even begins to sour. Kombucha doesn't expire or spoil in the sense of going rotten, it just gets more tart and will eventually turn into vinegar. We suggest you consume a 12oz bottle within a day after opening unless you refrigerate it and then consume it within a week after opening. We also suggest to not drink straight from the growler & seal the growler immediately after you pour some. Storing Kombucha in your refrigerator will slow down the fermentation process immensely thus prolonging your Kombucha's freshness.
